Fun With Sandwiches...

It was 7.00am when my alarm rang. With just 3 hours of sleep I woke up, changed up and proceed to B2 Kitchen to assist in preparing the food items. The night before, I went out with a couple of volunteers to to haul back bags and bags of food from the nearby GINZA plaza. I must say it has been a long time since I last did shopping, but luckily, food prices remained stable unlike oil prices >.<. Just what am I up to? EVC MINDS is organising a Special Project for MINDS CTDC (the place where we usually go perform our volunteer work). It isn't some impressive and complicated Special Project. Our job this morning is to just to be "Sandwich Chefs" and teach the clients how to make their very own sandwich! It is simple sandwich with tuna, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and hot dogs. It is a very simple project to plan, especially with the help of Wang Qi my assistant-coordinator. We sort of got the project down in 1 meeting and 3 meet ups. Good things need not be complicated. =)

Arrival at the center at 9.30am.

May the sandwich making begin!

Savouring the fruits of their labour.

The munching continues...

Volunteers are hungry too...

Mini-Karaoke Session

Folding Paper Planes (and many other things =p)!

A Group Photo before we leave at 12.30pm...

I guess both the clients, volunteers as well as staff had fun today. And the sandwiches tasted quite good actually despite the simple ingredients.

Mid-Autumn Fun...

I can still remember clearly what I am doing during the night of the mid-autumn festival. Attending meetings, working out budgets and workplans, rushing my projects and sending out emails. What a pathetic way to spend a festive season, but being a workaholic, I almost forgot that I am actually standing on mid-autumn festival!

It all started when Melissa and Michelle came to C1 in an attempt to invite the C1 Muggers to join them in the their mini mid-autumn celebration. I was quite reluctant to go intially because I am still rushing my budgeting, but then I decided that I had enough (pissed off) work for a day and take a break.
We set of at about 12 midnight, and it was a foggy; actually it was a hazy night like some explorers going on an adventure.

Pre-setting off picture where we light our lanterns.

A sign of bad omen according to Jit Vern as his lantern fell off the stick minutes into our adventure.

Posing while waiting for the traffic light.

Gathering up our lanterns.

Our lanterns.

Profiling shot for Regina. She complains that her hair looks ugly...

Jit Vern looking at girls *ahem* something...

Shiyun... she only allow us to take one shot of her...

Melissa... one of the first few to volunteer for the shot. Nice picture in my opinion.

Thanks for the lanterns and mooncake! Michelle the event organiser!

Ian with his trademark pose!

Group photo.

The best lantern shot.

Candle flame...

Not all the shots are taken by me. So many people took so many shots to a point I lost track of which picture is taken by who. I wonder what is with the sudden interest in photograpy... =p

And if anyone wonders why there are no pictures of me, again don't ask. It is a really sad story... =)

Anyways, after running around, taking pictures, enjoyed the mooncakes and a visit to McD, we concluded out trip and took a slow walk back to hall at about 2.30am. I guess everyone enjoyed the outing.

Sometimes is it good to let go of our work and recharge our spiritual energies once in a while...

Eusoff Hall Inter-Block Games 2006

Yup, another video production by Eusoffworks, and thanks to Chen Yong for uploading it. =)

This video could have been more well done if we had more time and the computer breaks down less often, and YouTube certainly does not serve Xin Yu justice with the low picture quality (all his special effects cannot be seen!).

Anyway enjoy.

Steamboat Dinner...

This afternoon, I was invited to a Steamboat Dinner with some of the Malaysian juniors in hall. Most of them are from EVC Elderly Service, but being the usual thick-skin (non-Malaysian, non-Elderly Service Member), I joined in.

It has been so long since I last handled food and was a little clumsy while helping out with the preparation of the food items this afternoon.

I got to admit that the Steamboat Dinner was nothing less then a feast. Good food, great company; what more can one ask? =)

I am quite lazy to blog today and the sight of words freak me out after one whole day of non-stop reading. So I think I shall let the pictures tell the story. =P

Thanks for the dinner. =)
By the way... I haven't pay for the dinner... and don't ask me why am I not in the pictures...

Taking A Break...

I have always been in the Video Production area, so today, I decided to try something new. I have been reading the manual of the Canon EOS 350D Digital SLR Camera for the past few days. And today, eager to find out how good a camera man I am, I decided to put my new found technical knowledge into test during my 2 hour study break today.

I
conveniently took out the DSLR Camera from Eusoffworks Video Editing Room and headed to the carpark just outside Eusoff Hall and start snapping at everything I that I feel could be a "photo opportunity". To be honest, it is my first time taking pictures of other sorts, other then family pictures.

At the moment, I can neither say I am fully proficient with the Digital SLR Camera yet nor I have a good photographic skills. This is just the beginning of a new journey of discovery for me.

Taking photo is not my field of expertise, but I do have a little skill in "photoshopping". All the pictures are "photoshopped" slightly to make them look better. =p

If you "admire" my work and would like to have a high resolution of the picture, feel free to contact me. And it would be good if I can gather some feedback from my blog readers with regards to my phototaking skills, so I can improve on them over time.

I think I found a new hobby. =)
